New Moon in Aquarius. Emotional Volcanoes plus a Breath of Fresh Air.

New Moon in Aquarius. Emotional Volcanoes plus a Breath of Fresh Air.

by Monika Carless | Jan 23, 2020 | Musings

Plucking myself from the anticipation of beginning a new decade, and the heaviness of cosmic activity thus far, I raise my head in defiance of the feeling that each day has been as three: intense, expectant, deliriously demanding. We shuffle through with feet barely...

Virginia Woolf: Essential Quotes from an Authentic, Sovereign Woman.

by Monika Carless | Jan 23, 2020 | Musings

Isn’t it interesting how certain people come into our awareness? My initial recollection of discovering Virginia Woolf was simply hearing her name. I thought, “What a magical name for a woman to embody!” Next, another fleeting connection, someone mentioned that she...

Spirit Update: 01.10-12. 20 Wild Ones, If you are dialed-in to your emotions, you may be feeling the utter chaos, the torn up roots, the pull to new directions as the moon, sun and planets create a deeply magnetized energetic portal. “A penumbral eclipse of the...

I’m a Feminist and a Trad-Wife. I’ve always been I’m a Feminist and a Trad-Wife.

I’ve always been a hermit who loves a traditional home life. I run a small homestead, bake bread, grow an organic garden, cook meals for my husband which are ready when he gets home. I often make his breakfast and pack his lunch, make yogurt, granola, pickles (you get the idea) and take care of pretty much all the home things while he makes the money.

I make money too, but we pile it all into one cauldron. He doesn’t need to worry about the bills being paid, I’m the accountant; he just plops the paycheck into the bank. I make sure he has clean laundry and that the house is tidy so that he (and I) live in a grounded environment.

How is this feminist in any way? Sounds like a lot of work, to begin with. It is a lot of work. And, it’s the work I want to be doing. It brings me pleasure. It turns me on. No one has asked me to do it, not my husband, not any kind of religious belief. I just find this lifestyle nourishing. I’m quite solitary. It is a privilege to be able to work from and at home. I also tend to my business of being a writer and supporting my clients. But if my business slows, I’m taken care of. And if I can’t make dinner, no worries, it’s not an obligation or a demand.

I see feminism through the Wise Woman lens which understands everyone and everything as sacred. Feminism isn't only for women, its for men also, and all of society. Everyone deserves to have freedom of movement, speech and lifestyle, everyone deserves safety, food security, opportunity and most importantly choice. Choice, to me, sums up feminism. I don’t want any feminist telling me what I should be doing, or how. If they are, they don’t get it. The point of Feminism is equal opportunity and choice of opportunity. Whatever choice that is. Whatever genuinely works for the person; as long as they are not being coerced or abused, that they are heard and emotionally supported.

So that’s me. Your thoughts?

The inversion of Eros as sinful was the beginning The inversion of Eros as sinful was the beginning of how the world viewed women's bodies as anything but sacred, their right to bodily autonomy, and understanding the connection between spirituality, creativity and sexuality.

But I see you, remembering, honoring your body, your Eros, birthing humanity...

It’s been magical to connect with so many of you r It’s been magical to connect with so many of you recently. I thought I would re-introduce myself – community is everything.

Although I’m shy on camera, I’m also an open book. Authenticity and transparency is something I have always held dear. So here goes!

I’m in my Crone era, 65 years old, queer, Scorpio Sun, Cancer Rising, Scorpio Moon. There’s more Scorpio in my chart, so that pretty much explains my obsession with Death and Re-birth.

I write. It’s the other obsession. Supporting writers is my passion. My books:

*Hay House – Transforming the Mother Wound

*The Dark Pool Trilogy – Erotic Pagan Romantasy

*Love. Lust. Lost. A collection of 69 of my favorite elephant journal articles

*Tessa and the Faeries – children’s book of three short stories

Born in Poland to two amazing people, orphan at 5, adopted at 9, a bunch of fuckery after that, and hence… my mother wound book

I’ve been on the Wise Woman Path for 25 years after a lifetime of Christianity. I remember three past lives and see Goddess in everything.

I am mama to two feral daughters, with 2 grandchildren and one on the way Earthside.

‘Mother’ is the biggest theme of my life. My dance with the Great Cosmic Mother informs much of what I live and teach.

I live on a tiny homestead in a vintage cottage with an organic garden on Vancouver Island with my long-time partner.

If I had to choose mountains or ocean… I couldn’t choose.

I speak to spirits.

Tell me about you!

It's not coincidence that you're seeing The Great It's not coincidence that you're seeing The Great Cosmic Mother and talk of the Exiled Feminine in your feed. It's synchronicity.

She has her channels... those who speak her ancient language through their work, their Wise Woman practices and their dedication to the Old Ways.

Now, between Bletane and Summer Solstice, the energy of the Goddess is reaching its peak. Take note of dreams, and occurrences in your life that call up Her frequency - what messages does she bring?

As we circle back to the earth-based practices of the re-emerging Feminine, the Great Mother Goddess will meet an inevitable exploitation of her presence. But many of us will hold the sacred space, here, and in our heart.
We build the community. We share the wisdom. We dance to her drum.

And so it is.

She had no ephemeris, or the internet to tell her She had no ephemeris, or the internet to tell her what and when the moon was in its varying phases.

The Old World Witch turned her face to the sky and adjusted her magic according to what she saw.

Blessed Witch's New Moon, Beloveds.
The sound of Ma, so ingrained in our consciousness The sound of Ma, so ingrained in our consciousness has deep meaning and connections to the rhythm of the cosmos, and in turn to our own inner rhythms.

Ma, Mother... is a call to what keeps us grounded in love and embodiment.

I see the correlation with the Goddess Ma'at, a representation of divine feminine intelligence and the Great Cosmic Mother.

We can work with her via sound, meditation, and internal reflection.

Return to the Mother, the source of life, death and rebirth, as a reminder of our own continual transformation.
