A couple of weeks ago I commemted on a post where I asked about the enslaved adopting the religion of the enslaver.
I am interested in exploring this, I only bear the question, I am not qualified to answer, only speculate.
One of the folks on that post suggested that it would be difficult to find what their ancestors believed in. And to return to that.
What I've shared here comes from the book The Great Cosmic Mother - Rediscovering the Religion of the Earth by Monica Sjoo and Barbara Mor.

Perhaps this is one road back?

And also... how far the roots of matriarchy and goddess worship go. How anciemt the roots of earth based spirituality.

The headiness of Mid-Summer is still with us, with many long days ahead. You may begin to notice a shortening by the end of July and the festival of Lughnasadh at the beginning of August.

Julv is the time when Wise Women make medicine from plants, such as calendula balm when flowers are in bloom. It is also a time for making infused oils, vinegars, tinctures and drying herb allies for healing teas.

Southern Hemisphere has just passed Winter Solstice thus beginning the lengthening of daylight there.

The full moon symbolizes the ripeness of existence. We can take our cues from her powerful feminine presence, her association with Mother - nurturing and birthing, and her dance with the light.

Sink into the natural 'openess' we feel at this time. When we feel, we tap into a wisdom that is not governed by the mind or action. This kind of wisdom asks for receptivity and surrender. Illumination is a process of allowing; so divinely feminine in nature.

Here, there, everywhere. The amount of spaces push

Here, there, everywhere.
The amount of spaces pushed on creators by tech is astounding.
It's easy to feel that we need to show up everywhere to be of service and to build community.
This is fundamentally destructive to our sense of calm and grounded presence.

There is a distinct pull to having to show up or else. Each platform promises success if only we try harder.

It feels like medieval rack torture, stretching ourselves beyond human capacity.

We can choose.
Which space fulfills your creative impulse?
Where do you feel at home?
Can most of your work be in your newsletter, in circles, in creative offers that nourish you and your community?

Give yourself permission to intentionally curate where you share yourself.

First of all, I'm ok. This is manageable. Please don't worry, but I'll take all your love, virtual hugs, positive support and spells!

I've not found all my resources yet or found a way through this but I am well supported through family, friends, wider community, and what I know about the body, nutrition and health.
I have a incredible naturopath.

I have probably been experiencing this for over a year with no usual symptoms that others feel. I'll write more about what it is when I'm ready.

Solstice has been revelatory in the kindest way possible.
I have had to surrender to not being as 'productive' as I'm addicted to.
I'm frustrated because I had a timeline for this year, and a voice in my head is saying that I'll miss my opportunity with the publisher I'm creating for if I don’t stick to my timeline. I know that that's not truth.

I haven't been working much... another thing I have catastrophized.

These are all normal reactions.
There is so much good in my life right now.
I'm going to carry both 'good and challenging' together, because that's life... and I know deep down how normal it is to experience both.

Solstice brought a threshold. I'm stepping over, in and through.
