Woman is not an afterthought, nor is She a demon o Woman is not an afterthought, nor is She a demon or the downfall of humanity.

The fractured beginnings between the masculine and feminine have been propagated by religion and culture, but we are waking up to the danger and violence of the myths which vilinise women.

This awakening brings us back to the mythology of the Great Mother, who birthed us from her own body, like women have done from the beginning of time, not from dust, not from a rib, but from her own body.

....

🖤 guiding women on the wise woman path, and writing their sacred stories.

I was wrong about where the term Wise Woman came f I was wrong about where the term Wise Woman came from. Information I read, created an emotional tie to destigmatize or reclaim the word ‘witch’, but it wasn’t technically the root of the term.

This was really appealing when I was new on my path. Now, I want clarity, not only for my own walk, but for what I teach others.

Things went terribly wrong when the ‘cunning woman’, or one who held special knowledge and whose connection with natural forces worked for the good, was cast into an alternative role, that of the spell-caster, by misogynistic and superstitious Medieval powers.

While the role of the Wise Woman in the community did go underground for safety’s sake, it wasn’t extinguished. Woman’s connection to the occult (hidden knowledge) is still our super-power. There is great need for our intuition, our connection to healing with plants, food and love, for the spells we cast with words and actions.

I guide women on their Wise Woman Path, and because their trust is given, I am committed to continually learn and be clear about what that is.

What gods and goddesses roamed the spirit world, w What gods and goddesses roamed the spirit world, who did my ancient ancestors pray to and leave offerings for?

It’s been twenty-five years since I began exploring my ancestral spirituality.

Between the Christian path I came into through my parents and where I am now, I searched Buddhism, Indigenous practices of the Americas, Eastern religions, New Age, truly believing that white folk had no spiritual roots, and that the closest I would come would be Wicca – which while closer, still did not belong to me.

I am so grateful for all that nourished me until I found my ancestral path. I don’t think I would have survived having nothing to guide me, and I learned much from practices of neighboring cultures.

I appreciate the grounding of learning how others interact with Spirit. I had to be taught appreciation over appropriation. So many lessons, so many teachers.

I bow to them, and to my ancestors, those Slavic Pagans who voices are becoming clearer and clearer.

Welcome May – the month of Beltaine and two full m Welcome May – the month of Beltaine and two full moons, the first in Scorpio – illuminating hidden truths – initiating transformations, the other in Sagittarius – the philosophical truthteller, holding space for our journey through self-gnosis this month.

May may have been named for the eldest daughter of Atlas and Pleione – one of the Pleiadean Seven Sisters, or for the Roman fertility Goddess Maia, (other explanations exist as well), but wherever the truth lies, it is all about Earth’s surging fecundity.

We embody the earthy groundedness of Taurus the first 19 days of the month and then slip into adaptable playfulness with the start of Gemini Season. As each moon, zodiac sign and element traverses our outer and inner landscape, our cells, psyche and heart absorb their lessons and wisdom.

May we be open to the mystery, as it unfolds around us.

A 10-Minute Practice to Honor Deep Emotions Sit c A 10-Minute Practice to Honor Deep Emotions

Sit comfortably with your back straight, draw in three deep breaths, connecting to your lungs and the element of Air.

Place your hands on your womb, thumbs together, pointer fingers together, such as in Yoni Mudra.

Bring attention to your womb, feel her energy like the ocean, connect with the element of Water.

Anchor yourself through your sitz bones, root down and feel the element of Earth, allow The Great Mother to hold you unconditionally.

Imagine a warmth in your belly, the element of Fire supporting your internal fires.

Open to the cosmos, Spirit, the stars, sun, planets, and Luna through your crown.

Feel the balance within you—harmony is you.

Your exhale could be:

I honor my womb’s wisdom

I honor my deep emotions

I honor the sovereignty, fearlessness, and self-love emanating through my womb

I anchor myself in love

I live in peace with my changing beingness

I rest, introspect, and transform with Luna

I release the past month and integrate its medicine

I make space for Full Moon illumination

I accept what is and receive new insights

I am

I am

I am

Sit with this for as long as needed.
