I take it to mean that challenges are impartial, the Universe does not play favorites, we'll all experience difficult times. They may kill us, slowly, if we're not flexible, if we're not willing or unable to grow through and transform with the hard things.

We can grow stronger, we can bend, we can, through the hard things, evolve and thrive.

Imbolc, for our Ancestors, was the first harbinger of Spring, a hopeful promise of new life birthed in the fields and barns, the blessings of the Great Mother returned after a dark, often hungry, winter.
Aquarius and the element of Air awaken our mind, the desire for learning, communication and expressing our convictions. Special focus is on the Throat Energy Center. The element of Air in its projective (masculine) expression is 'TO KNOW', alive in us, from Imbolc to Ostara.

Affirmation:

For years, I struggled with saying that I was a writer, and that writing was my purpose, that writing was how I would teach the deepest impulses locked in my soul. It seemed silly, self-indulgent. But art is never silly, it's what keeps our hearts open and society sane.

I also love supporting writers, because it's not easy to spill ourselves onto paper. Today, I plant seeds of gratitude for everyone who takes that risk.

Last Quarter Moon - the threshold between Wild Wom

Last Quarter Moon - the threshold between Wild Woman and Wise Woman phase - sending energy down to our roots - introspection, composting, transformation is on the horizon.

Here's a practice that has helped me to move through fear, indecision and anxiety. For me, gratitude has always been the mother of abundance, and the gateway for manifesting in a grounded way. In the last three years, as I have faced some stressful times, I have turned to gratitude as my GUIDE to move difficult emotions.
It all began with having insomnia about one night every three weeks, for some reason. I would lie awake with thoughts churning, and quickly descend into catastrophizing whatever I was worrying about. This would also happen in the day, where I mentally walked myself into a maze of unsolvable life circumstances. Even though I knew on some level that these stories my mind was creating weren't true, I'd go down the rabbit hole anyway.
One time, when my emotional pain level felt incredibly uncomfortable, I got up, lit some candles and decided to try some meditation. Of course that didn't work, because my meditation style usually involves movement. But because it was pitch black outside, I wasn't enticed to go for a walk or dig in my garden.
Instead, I accidentally fell into appreciating the cosiness of our little cottage, my cat's purring, and the light of the candles. I felt so much gratitude that I began to tear up, where just moments before I had been listing all the downsides of our small space, what it cost, and blaming myself for making a bad real estate decision.
Later, and other times, when I consciously unpacked what had happened there - that shift in my thoughts, emotions and even how I felt in my body - I realized that Gratitude could be the pathway to moving anxiety if practiced intentionally. 👇👇👇
