This book is a gathering of some of my articles published at elephant journal between 2015 and 2023.
I knew that one day I would compile some of these articles, to share in a cohesive format, so those who live to love could see themselves in my stories and either find inspiration or healing, or simply enjoy words.
I write directly from my heart, often with ‘Aiden’, my muse and guide at my side. If you have read my Dark Pool Trilogy, you will know that I write freely and authentically; it is humbling and an honor to be open to the flow. Some of these essays are completely vulnerable, direct shares from my life, while others draw from the collective consciousness.
Love takes many forms and incarnations. It is the pulse of the Cosmos and our hearts. Love isn’t easy, it’s a mystery, one which we gladly explore. Whether it lifts us or challenges us, love is worth every ounce of growth we must surrender to. I admit, I do share a romantic view of love, and also know that any ideal is inherently flawed because human beings are imperfect and in their own process of evolution. I don’t believe that we can expect any one human being, no matter how much they love us, to be a perfect companion, or that they appear in our lives to fix anything. But that doesn’t stop me from exploring the ideal, and from keeping my heart filled with romantic notions. Loss is deeply entwined with Love, as is Lust. This trinity lives and breathes into itself with a sometimes-unjust reality.
But could we ever do without the passion, the pain or the perplexity? Not I. Call it an addiction if you must, however, love, lust and loss is what writers and poets live and die for on their quest for something illusively palpable.
