Meditation creates space for the numinous to express itself through the physical realm. . . Oy! I used to be so intimidated by the idea of meditation. It was so difficult to concentrate, not get sleepy, to feel like I was getting somewhere with it. . . Three things that helped me were: 1. Letting go of the expectations surrounding meditation. I simply had to let it evolve as I evolved into my own practice. 2. Following my breath as a portal to a calm state of mind. 3. Setting an intention for each meditation. . . Once I let go of all my unrealistic expectations I realized that meditation was when I best communicated with my wider self, with Spirit and my guides. I began to manifest my desires more rapidly and could tap into wisdom/knowledge that was previously beyond my reach. I began to look forward to being alone with Self. The world became a nicer place. I saw it with a new perspective. . . Recently, I told a client who was reluctant to give meditation a go that she didn't HAVE to do it, she got to do it. Even that one slight adjustment to how she looked at it made a huge difference.
